Upcoming Phone Launches in India October 2026: Vivo, OPPO, Redmi, OnePlus & More

If you’re planning to buy a new phone this October, maybe don’t rush to the checkout button just yet.

October 2026 has several smartphone launches lined up in India, from the new vivo V80 and OPPO F35 series to the recently launched Redmi 17C 5G, while phones like the Motorola Edge 70 Neo and OnePlus 16 are also expected to get attention this month.

And there’s another reason to wait a little.

The festive shopping season is starting, which means new launches and big online sales are happening almost at the same time.

So here’s the October 2026 phone launch list, with a clear distinction between phones with confirmed dates and those that are still based on reports or leaks.

October 2026 phone launches in India at a glance

SmartphoneExpected/confirmed dateWhat stands out
Redmi 17C 5GLaunched Oct 16,000mAh battery, 120Hz display

vivo X Fold 6ExpectedFoldable flagship
OnePlus 16China launch Oct 12New flagship platform
OPPO Find X10 seriesExpected laterPremium camera-focused lineup
vivo X500 seriesExpected laterFlagship camera/performance focus

Not all of these have confirmed Indian launch dates yet. Some are based on company teasers, reports and leaks, so don’t treat every date above as final.

1. Redmi 17C 5G — Already launched

Let’s start with the one that’s no longer “upcoming.”

Xiaomi launched the Redmi 17C 5G in India on October 1.

The starting price is ₹20,999 for 4GB + 128GB, while the 6GB + 128GB version is priced at ₹22,999. The first sale is scheduled for October 7.

And the interesting part isn’t really the camera.

It’s the battery.

The phone packs a 6,000mAh battery with 33W charging and a 6.9-inch display supporting up to a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. It runs on MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300 chipset.

It also gets IP64 dust and water resistance, a 50MP main camera, a 3.5mm headphone jack and HyperOS 3 based on Android 16.

Redmi 17C 5G: key specifications

  • 6.9-inch display
  • Up to 120Hz refresh rate
  • MediaTek Dimensity 6300
  • 6,000mAh battery
  • 33W fast charging
  • 50MP main camera
  • 5G connectivity
  • IP64 rating
  • HyperOS 3
  • Android 16

For someone looking for a large-screen phone with a big battery around the ₹20,000 mark, this is one of the October launches to keep on the radar.

2. OPPO F35 Series — October 5

Next up is OPPO.

The OPPO F35 series is scheduled to launch in India on October 5. OPPO has already started its pre-launch campaign and even opened a ₹9 privilege pack for the series.

The F35 series is expected to focus heavily on design, cameras, durability and battery life.

Some of the detailed specifications circulating online are still based on leaks, though, so this is one phone where I’d wait for OPPO’s official specifications before treating every number as confirmed.

That distinction matters.

A leaked 10,000mAh battery, for example, is interesting.

But until the company confirms it, it belongs in the expected specifications category rather than the “official specs” category.

What to watch for

The F35 series could be interesting for people who want:

  • A stylish mid-range phone
  • Strong selfie/camera features
  • Large battery capacity
  • Fast charging
  • Durable design

OPPO has also advertised launch-related benefits including an Enco Buds3 Pro bundle and exchange offers through its pre-launch campaign.

3. vivo V80 — October 6

This is probably one of the bigger October launches for people who care about smartphone cameras.

vivo has officially confirmed the V80 launch for October 6 in India.

And vivo is clearly pushing the camera experience.

The V80 comes with a ZEISS camera setup including:

  • 50MP main camera with OIS
  • 50MP ZEISS telephoto camera
  • 8MP ultrawide camera
  • 50MP autofocus selfie camera
  • 3x optical zoom on the telephoto camera

It also supports 4K video recording and 4K 60fps video.

But the camera isn’t the only interesting part.

The V80 has a 7,200mAh battery and supports 90W charging. It also has a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display with up to a 144Hz refresh rate.

And yes, vivo has gone pretty serious with AI features too.

The phone includes features such as Snap Note, Pet Pals and Security Shield, although availability can vary by region and feature.

vivo V80: key specifications

FeatureDetails
Display6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED
Refresh rateUp to 144Hz
ProcessorSnapdragon 7 Gen 4
Battery7,200mAh
Charging90W
Main camera50MP OIS
Telephoto50MP ZEISS
Selfie50MP
OSAndroid 17 / OriginOS 7
ProtectionIP68/IP69

The India launch is confirmed for October 6, while the final Indian price is something buyers should wait for at the launch event.

4. vivo S2 FE — Another October phone to watch

The vivo S2 FE is also expected to arrive in India around the October 6 event.

Reports suggest that the phone could come with a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display, 120Hz refresh rate and a very large battery.

Some reports have mentioned a battery capacity around 10,000mAh.

Sounds wild, right?

But here’s the important bit: these specifications are not all officially confirmed yet.

So for now, treat the S2 FE as an expected launch, not a completely confirmed specifications sheet.

If the reported battery and display specifications materialise, this could become one of the more interesting phones for people who prioritise battery life.

5. Motorola Edge 70 Neo — Expected in October

Motorola is also expected to add another phone to its Edge lineup with the Motorola Edge 70 Neo.

The phone has appeared on an Android 17 beta sign-up page for India, which suggests an Indian launch is in the works.

Reports currently point toward a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor and a clean Android software experience.

Motorola’s Edge series has generally focused on slimmer designs and relatively clean software, so the Edge 70 Neo could appeal to buyers who don’t want an overly customised Android interface.

But again:

Launch date and complete specifications aren’t confirmed yet.

So don’t book anything based solely on leaked specifications.

6. vivo X Fold 6 — For the foldable crowd

If regular smartphones are starting to look boring to you, there’s also the vivo X Fold 6.

The foldable is expected to make its India debut around October, although the India launch details weren’t fully confirmed at the time of writing.

Reports point to:

  • 8.02-inch inner display
  • 6.51-inch cover display
  • 120Hz refresh rates
  • MediaTek Dimensity 9500-series platform
  • High-end camera hardware
  • Foldable design

This is obviously a very different category from something like the Redmi 17C.

So if you’re shopping for a phone under ₹25,000, you can safely ignore this section.

If you’re shopping for a premium foldable, however, this is one to watch.

7. OnePlus 16 — Premium flagship on the way

Then there’s OnePlus.

The OnePlus 16 is scheduled to launch in China on October 12, but an Indian launch timeline hasn’t been confirmed yet.

This is one of those phones where leaks are already doing a lot of talking.

Reports suggest a new Qualcomm flagship chipset, a large battery and upgraded camera hardware.

Some reports are pointing towards:

  • 9,000mAh-class battery
  • 100W wired charging
  • 50W wireless charging
  • 200MP main camera
  • Periscope telephoto camera

But these should be treated as reported specifications until OnePlus officially confirms them.

For Indian buyers, the bigger question is when the India launch happens and what the Indian pricing looks like.

8. OPPO Find X10 series

OPPO’s premium Find X10 series is also expected to expand into global markets after its China launch.

The series is particularly interesting because of its camera hardware.

Reports indicate that the Find X10 family could feature extremely high-resolution main and telephoto cameras, with premium Hasselblad camera tuning.

But this is another case where India launch timing needs to be treated as expected rather than guaranteed.

So don’t put this phone in your October shopping list as a confirmed Indian launch just yet.

What should you do if you’re planning to buy a phone this month?

Honestly, this is where things get interesting.

October isn’t just about new phones.

It’s also festive sale season.

Amazon’s Great Indian Festival is scheduled to begin on October 8, with discounts across smartphones and other electronics.

Flipkart’s Big Billion Days sale is also scheduled around the same period.

So you could potentially have:

New phone launches + festive discounts + bank offers + exchange deals

all happening within days of each other.

That’s why buying a phone on October 1 without checking what is launching on October 5 or 6 may not be the smartest shopping process.

Not because every new phone will automatically be better.

Simply because you suddenly have more options.

Should you wait for the October phone launches?

If your current phone is working fine and you aren’t in a hurry, waiting until the first half of October gives you more information.

You’ll know:

  • Which phones actually launched
  • Their real Indian prices
  • Their specifications
  • Launch offers
  • Exchange bonuses
  • Festival-sale discounts
  • Which older phones suddenly become cheaper

And that last one is important.

Sometimes the phone you wanted before the launch becomes a much better deal after a newer model arrives.

You don’t always need the newest phone.

You need the phone that makes sense for what you’re actually going to do with it.

October 2026 phone launches: confirmed vs expected

Here’s the simplest way to look at it.

Confirmed

Redmi 17C 5G — already launched in India on October 1.

OPPO F35 series — October 5 India launch confirmed by OPPO’s pre-launch campaign.

vivo V80 — October 6 India launch confirmed.

Expected / reported

vivo S2 FE

Motorola Edge 70 Neo

vivo X Fold 6

OnePlus 16 India

OPPO Find X10 series

vivo X500 series

These phones have varying levels of leaks, reports or company teasers, so their India dates and final specifications should be checked again before publication updates.

Final takeaway

October 2026 isn’t necessarily about one giant smartphone launch.

It’s more interesting because different types of phones are arriving at the same time.

There’s the battery-focused Redmi 17C 5G, camera-focused vivo V80, OPPO’s F35 series, Motorola’s expected Edge 70 Neo and a bunch of premium phones waiting further down the month.

And because the festive sales are arriving at almost the same time, October could be a particularly useful month for phone buyers to compare launch prices with discounted older models.

So if you’re planning to replace your phone, don’t just search for “best phone 2026.”

First decide what actually matters to you:

camera, battery, gaming, display, software, or price.

Then compare the phones that fit that requirement.

That’s a much easier way to avoid spending ₹40,000 on a feature you’ll barely use.
