๐ฅ Asian Games 2026 Medal Tally: India Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals, Overall Standings
September 30, 2026 | Aichi-Nagoya, Japan ๐ฏ๐ต
Okay, if you haven’t been following the Asian Games closely, don’t worry โ you’re not the only one. ๐ญ
Because unlike cricket, where most of us somehow know what’s happening even when we haven’t watched the match, the Asian Games are a completely different universe.
One minute you’re watching archery.
Then there’s shooting.
Then suddenly India has won something in kabaddi, someone is running 10,000 metres, someone is lifting an absolutely ridiculous amount of weight, and you’re sitting there thinking:
โWAITโฆ INDIA GOT ANOTHER MEDAL?!โ ๐๐ฎ๐ณ
And that’s exactly why we’re keeping this page updated.
The 20th Asian Games โ Aichi-Nagoya 2026 are being held in Japan from September 19 to October 4, with athletes competing across 43 sports, 71 disciplines and 469 medal events.
And India’s medal hunt is still very much alive. ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ

๐ Latest medal tally

| ๐ฎ๐ณ India | ๐ฅ Gold | ๐ฅ Silver | ๐ฅ Bronze | ๐ Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| India | 10 | 21 | 29 | 60 |
India moved up to eighth place after a huge medal day on September 30, when the country added four gold medals.
And honestly, this is where the Asian Games become fun.
Because 60 medals don’t all come from the sports we normally talk about every day.
Cricket may get the loudest WhatsApp group reactions ๐ญ, but India’s medal haul is coming from all sorts of places โ shooting, archery, athletics, kabaddi, squash, badminton, boxing, rowing, weightlifting and more.

๐ Who Is Leading the Asian Games Medal Tally?
China are currently sitting at the top of the table, with Japan and South Korea also among the leading countries. The medal table is generally ordered by gold medals first, followed by silver and then bronze โ so total medals alone don’t decide the ranking.
๐ Top of the table
| Rank | Country | ๐ฅ | ๐ฅ | ๐ฅ | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | ๐จ๐ณ China | 144 | 63 | 50 | 257 |

| 8 | ๐ฎ๐ณ India | 10 | 21 | 29 | 60 |
Medal counts are a live snapshot and can change as events finish.
๐ฅ India’s Medal Story Isn’t Just About One Sport
And this is probably the most interesting part.
If you’re someone who only follows Indian cricket, the Asian Games are basically a reminder that Indian sport is much, much bigger than cricket.
We’ve got athletes shooting targets down to tiny fractions of a point.
Archers standing there looking completely calm while shooting arrows at a target from a ridiculous distance.
Wrestlers trying to throw each other around.
Boxers trading punches.
Runners pushing through the final metres.
Kabaddi players doing things that make you wonder whether their lungs have an extra battery.
And then there’s squash, badminton, rowing, weightlifting, cycling, sailing…
Basically, India is busy everywhere. ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ณ
The official Games programme includes sports ranging from archery and athletics to cricket, esports, MMA, padel, surfing, teqball, wrestling and wushu.
๐ฅ India’s Gold Medal Moments So Far
Let’s talk about the shiny ones. ๐
Because every time that national anthem starts playing during a medal ceremonyโฆ
Goosebumps. That’s it. ๐ฎ๐ณโค๏ธ
๐น Archery โ India Goes Full Bullseye
Archery has been one of India’s big medal contributors.
On September 30, India’s compound archers had a particularly crazy day.
The women’s compound team of Jyothi Vennam, Chikitha Taniparthi and Prithika Pradeep defeated China 238-234 for gold.
Then Chikitha Taniparthi and Sahil Jadhav won the compound mixed-team gold after a tense shoot-off against Korea.
And India’s men’s compound team also booked its place in the gold-medal match.
So yesโฆ
Indian archery really said: โAaj target miss nahi karna.โ ๐ฏ๐

๐ฏ Shooting Has Been HUGE
If there is one sport you absolutely need to keep an eye on during these Games, it’s shooting.
India’s shooters have already collected a stack of medals.
And on September 30, Neeru Dhanda and Kynan Chenai won gold in the mixed-team trap event.
But wait โ there’s more.
They didn’t just win.
They set a new Asian Games record, scoring 34 hits in the final. Qatar took silver with 32 and China bronze with 23.
And Neeru Dhanda had already won gold in the women’s individual trap event.
So within roughly a day, she’s suddenly got two Asian Games gold medals. ๐ฅ๐ฅ
Not a bad week at work, honestly. ๐ญ

๐ Athletics: The Sport Where Every Second Feels Like a Movie
Athletics has been another major part of India’s campaign.
And this is where you realise how many different ways there are to win a medal.
Running.
Jumping.
Throwing.
Hurdles.
Relay.
Long-distance races.
And sometimes the difference between a medal and fourth place is literally a few hundredths of a second.
India finished the athletics competition with 24 medals, including one gold, alongside a collection of silver and bronze medals.
One particularly memorable moment came in the women’s 4ร400m relay, where India’s team of Kiran Pahal, Poovamma M.R., Prachi and Vithya Ramraj won gold.
And if you’ve ever watched a relay race, you know the final runner is basically carrying the hopes, dreams and blood pressure of an entire country. ๐ญ

๐คผ And Then There Is KABADDI โค๏ธ
Come on.
You cannot talk about India’s Asian Games campaign without talking about kabaddi.
Because kabaddi is one of those sports where somebody casually says:
โBas pakad ke rokna hai.โ
And then six people start flying across the court. ๐ญ
India won both the men’s and women’s kabaddi gold medals.
The women’s team defeated Iran 37-34 to defend its Asian Games title.
Later, India’s men’s team defeated Iran 40-34, completing the golden double.
Two finals.
Two golds.
Kabaddi department: kaam khatam. ๐ฎ๐ณ๐ฅ๐ฅ

๐ Yes, Cricket Also Brought Gold
And obviouslyโฆ
CRICKET.
Because let’s be honest, this is probably the section some people are scrolling straight toward. ๐
India’s women’s cricket team won the gold medal at the Asian Games.
So yes, if someone asks:
โIndia won how many golds?โ
You can now casually say:
โCricket also.โ ๐
๐ฅ Silver Isn’t โAlmost Goldโ
One thing we should probably stop doing is talking about silver medals like they’re some sort of consolation prize.
They’re not.
A silver medal means someone made it all the way to the final or finished second in an incredibly competitive event.
India has collected 21 silver medals so far.
Among the Indian silver medallists are athletes and teams from athletics, shooting, squash, weightlifting, wushu and other disciplines.
For example, Mirabai Chanu won silver in the women’s 49kg weightlifting event.
And Anahat Singh took silver in women’s singles squash, while Abhay Singh won silver in men’s singles.
These are the moments that may not always make it onto everyone’s Instagram feed but deserve attention anyway.
๐ฅ And Bronze? Still a Podium. โค๏ธ
Bronze medals are where you sometimes get the most emotional stories.
Because imagine training for years, travelling across countries, competing under enormous pressureโฆ
โฆand then standing on that podium.
India currently has 29 bronze medals in this latest September 30 snapshot.
The bronze medals have come across sports including athletics, badminton, boxing, rowing, shooting, squash, table tennis, MMA, kurash and more.
That’s actually what makes the Asian Games so interesting.
You can have one medal coming from a sport millions watchโฆ
โฆand another coming from a sport many people in India may have never watched before.
๐๏ธ India’s Medals Today โ September 30
Here’s the part we’ll keep updating whenever new medals arrive. ๐

| ๐ฅ | Neeru Dhanda & Kynan Chenai | Shooting | Mixed Team Trap |

The medal list should be refreshed as official results are confirmed.
๐ What Should Indians Watch Next?
Now comes the interesting bit.
The Asian Games aren’t finished yet.
The competition runs until October 4, so there are still medals to be decided.
India still has athletes competing across sports including:
๐ฅ Boxing
๐น Archery
๐ Hockey
๐คผ Wrestling
๐พ Tennis
๐ธ Badminton
๐ฏ Shooting
๐ฑ Squash
๐ Aquatics and other events
And wrestling has just entered its competition phase, with Indian wrestlers competing from September 30 to October 3.
So don’t assume the medal table is done.
It absolutely isn’t.
๐งก Why the Asian Games Are Actually Fun to Follow
Here’s my personal favourite thing about the Asian Games.
You don’t have to know every sport.
Seriously.
You don’t need to understand every technical rule before watching.
You can just start with:
โWait, what sport is this?โ
Five minutes later:
โCOME ON INDIAAAAA!โ ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ณ
That’s basically how it works.
One minute you’re watching an archer take aim.
Then you’re screaming at a boxing semifinal.
Then you’re trying to understand why somebody is wrestling for a point.
Then kabaddi comes on and suddenly you’re an expert coach sitting on the sofa.
โBhai, raid mat kar, time dekh!โ ๐
And somewhere between all of that, you discover athletes you’ve probably never heard of before.
That’s what makes a multi-sport event like the Asian Games special.
๐ฎ๐ณ India’s Medal Journey Isn’t Over Yet
With 60 medals in the latest September 30 update โ 10 gold, 21 silver and 29 bronze โ India is currently eighth in the overall standings.
But the table is moving.
Every final can change it.
Every gold can move a country up.
Every silver and bronze adds another story.
And by October 4, this little table that we’re updating today will look completely different.
So bookmark this page. ๐
Come back tomorrow.
We’ll update the medals, the athletes, the sports and the moments that made us go:
โBHAI, KYA PERFORMANCE THA!โ ๐ฎ๐ณ๐ฅ
Because the Asian Games aren’t just about counting medals.
They’re about finding out who the next Indian sporting hero is. โค๏ธ
